Status Updates by Class

As you may have heard we are trying to engage students in thinking about the ways in which they interact with technology, namely with social networking sites such as facebook.  Just to be clear, we are not using facebook in class, nor are we saying that our students need an account, nor are we saying that facebook is the preferred method of communication between school and home.  We are saying that students (and us adults too!) need to think about the digital environments in which we are writing.

Whew!  That was the long way to say, that along with using our low-tech “raiderbook” icons to communicate things about the daily schedule or classroom management, we are also using the idea of status updates to help students synthesize what we did during class that day, which will also create a great record of what we learned throughout the year.  It’s important to note, that unlike the blog posts written by Mrs. Cornwell and Ms. Cook, the updates to these pages, will NOT be sent via email or RSS notification!  Rather than sending a message each day to inform you that we’ve posted here, please know that we will be writing here on a daily basis, the only exception to that could be in the event of a teacher absence, at which point the updates will be recorded on paper and posted upon her return.

So, without further ado, below you will find the links to each hour and the corresponding document that contains that hour’s class status learning log.  We hope you enjoy sharing in the record of our learning!
