As I’ve shared with my students, I have a passion for all things creative – especially writing and photography. I passed on Picture Spring and Picture Summer, but something about the routine of taking a daily photo and receiving a daily email with a simple task an invitation to capture something true and real through my lens…something spoke to me. So I finally said, “Yes,” to Picture Fall.
Typically, I would share these images and words with my friends and family through my personal blog. Yet, as I’m encouraging my students to take their writing to wider audiences, to take risks, to grow – I suppose I should follow my own advice.
Today’s invitation was to capture the simple beauty of the falling leaves. As I wandered around my yard, I was struck by the reds, oranges and greens and the varied textures. There was something about their striking simplicity that begged to be gathered and displayed. After all, I bring in blossoms to grace my tables and countertops, why not welcome this season of harvest and hope with a little leafy-goodness?
I hope you’ll join me on this journey. If you feel so inspired, pick up your own camera and see what discoveries you make through the lens.
Omgg, i love this pictureee! I love the colors of the leaves(:
