“I don’t know what to write.”
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, I wouldn’t be worried about the upcoming budget cuts for Michigan. And yet, up until the moment, I typed the title for today’s post, I too was feeling a sense of, “I don’t know what to write.” Sometimes, it’s because I have so many ideas floating around it’s hard to grab just one. Other times, I feel like I’ve written about everything I have in me to write. Perhaps writing inspiration ideas will appear in a post later this week…
But today, as I typed the title of 13/31 I was amused by the palindrome. Immediately, I was taken back a good 6 years to the comforting kitchen of my in-laws where one of the common make-your-own-sandwich lunches was taking place. My niece, who was around 10 at the time and as precocious as ever, proudly asked for a palindrome sandwich. Laughing, we helped with her creation – bread, mayo, cheese, turkey, turkey, cheese, mayo, bread.
“I want mustard too,” she shouted.
Since that may have upset the palindromicity (yeah, I like making up words on occasion) we decided to put the mustard between the turkey by writing, “WOW.”
