I figured this image today was the perfect image to represent our relationship. While you may not always dash to the nearest telephone booth (I’m not even sure they exist much in your neck of the woods) you do certainly transition from your ordinary teacherly self into any number of appropriate superheroes. I’ll be honest though, it’s getting a bit crowded what with all of us competing for space within but a single person! Last I counted there were 6 of us in here!
SuperMom prepares homemade snacks and personalized Valentines not to mention a mad dash to preschool everyday after teaching all morning. She collects her charges with a graceful embrace before heading home to prepare a delicious lunch, read pre-nap stories and then spend the afternoon either ironing or pruning her indoor herb garden.
Captain Click has taken his love of photography and developed a full-blown photography business in. your. name. His work is artistic, creative and the fact that he specializes in senior portraits works far-too-seamlessly with Miss Writes-Alot’s career as a teacher.
Miss Writes-Alot is employed as a teacher, but clearly is just a reader and writer who enjoys working with students and encouraging them to find joy in the same things. She’s been known to spend entire afternoons voluntarily cataloging her book collection and has far too many journals, notebooks and online writing spaces to begin counting. (In fact, this is her blog, I’m just borrowing it for this post!)
RunnerGirl has an affinity for all things physical and spent the better part of a summer training for a half-marathon. She hasn’t been as busy lately due to the activity of others (Captain Click and SuperMom).
TechNoManiac spends far too many hours at a computer or interacting with something electronic. There’s been evidence that she can appear as a sub-personality and has pretty much infiltrated the lives of all other personas.
Leader of Xplode Youth Group (a.k.a The Xplode-inator) has the uncanny ability to corral 20-30 middle and high school students on Sunday nights and teach faith lessons in a ridiculously entertaining way. Just this past week, she engaged several of the students by exerting her muscular dominance which resulted in several successful arm wrestling matches and a few bruised male middle school egos.
I hope that you’re able to keep up with all that’s happening in here and I’ve heard there might even be a new legion of alter-egos preparing to engage if given the opportunity. I strongly encourage you to thwart their uprising and gain control over those already in position. The fate of the {your} universe depends on it!
Sincerely,
Me

The goal is to write a Slice of Life entry each day throughout the month of March.
Very clever and creative! I makes me wonder how many personalities are hiding inside me? Great piece!
This is such a creative post. I’ll have to try the same some time or better yet with my students.
i love all of the things you have seen inside of you! all i can think of is a 7th grader with THE BEST ELA teacher ever!:)
