Tonight, I started a second job. I tried to recall the scattered bits of information I gleaned from our hurried time together a week ago, and thankfully, most of it came back just fine.

I made a few mistakes, but I’m reminded of the teary-eyed student today who I encouraged. “Mistakes are part of learning,” I said. Tonight, I learned.

And I remembered that as much as the numbers need to balance and the right boxes need to be checked, it’s people who matter. People who are working hard to know better and do better.

I’m hoping this new weekly work will push me to keep making better, healthier choices!
